Madea (AKA: Mabel Simmons) has to be one of my most favorite movie characters. She is crazy, wise, loving, funny, but oh so honest. I so wish I would have had someone like Madea when I was younger when it came to relationships. When I first heard “Let em’ Go”, memories of loves lost came to mind with tears, heartache and sadness.
Young Men and Young Women: Love comes and goes. Some people are meant to be in your life for a season to teach you something and some are meant to be in your lifetime to love and appreciate YOU. Stop praying for the Lord to bring you someone. Focus on taking care of YOU first. God will deliver someone to come into your life when it is the right time. When I was younger, there were many seasons I faced. The day I started focusing on ME and let God take the wheel was the day I was finally at peace. Granted it took me years to understand this and accept it. I am very blessed and happy with my life and family. Is it perfect? No. Does it take work? Yes….. But I’ve learned to count my blessings and move forward.
Madea has three categories of people:
1. Leaves – only on a tree for a season, fall off, blow with the wind, use the tree for their own purpose.
2. Branch – branches grow on the tree but when you sit on those branches they will break and leave you high and dry; not sturdy.
3. Roots – they aren’t going anywhere; they are the strength of the tree; tree can’t live without their root; you are blessed to have 2-3 roots in your life.
I’m not sure about you, but I want roots in my life. I don’t want to be with someone and then say, “What the hell was I thinking?” I am glad I let go when I had to in life. Letting go brought me happiness. I know it will bring you happiness too!
